This is the elevation profile for the Tour de Cure on October 30th.  This is a 100 mile ride that starts with the climb up Palomar Mountain.  The climb up Palomar is 12.5 miles with over 4100' of elevation gain.  It generally takes someone like me 2+ hours just to climb the mountain (since 6 MPH is a reasonable speed).  Once the big climb is done there are still other significant climbs up to  complete the 100miles that make up the ride.  I'm hoping to finish in under 9 hours with about an eight hour target for the ride.  I'll update the results after the ride.  You can make a donation to teh American Diabetes Association via the tour website at http://tour.diabetes.org where I have a web page with more information on the ride.
