This is a quick note on the latest happenings in terms of Diabetes and stuff up first were my latest numbers from my May 27th Doc visit that I've been meaning to record:
A1C: 4.8 (-1)
LDL: 96 (-7)
HDL: 36 (-1 which is bad)
Wt: 191 (-9)
Given the success of these numbers (meaning that with the end of the 2 hour a days commuting lifestyle) I've got things back on track so instead of doing a quarterly we've pushed out my next Doc Visit and I'll only see him 3 times this year which is also pretty good.
Another quick item is the recent release of Byetta... I mentioned to my Doc that I'm actually interested in trying this med, which is rare for me since my doc and I have had our battles regarding Meds and the fact that I have no interest in taking them if I don't have to. Here's a link to the announcement on it's release: http://news.moneycentral.msn.com/ticker/article.asp?Feed=PR&Date=20050609&ID=4879743&Symbol=US:AMLN and a link to the manufacturers site: http://www.byetta.com/index.jsp
As those of you familiar with an A1C reading know a 4.8 is a below average reading (even for someone without Diabetes) so hitting that number is pretty impressive. Other then that I recently completed this years Tour de Cure ride but I'll be posting that along with my latest biking update in a separate post.
